Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz To Team Up For 'Bad Teacher'

While Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz are no longer making beautiful music together in real life, the pair will once again team up on the big screen in the new comedy "Bad Teacher." The "Shrek" co-stars will play the leads in the flick, according to Variety.

"Access Hollywood" reports that the film is expected to start shooting this month in Los Angeles. It will focus on a teacher, played by Diaz, who makes a play for her rival's (Lucy Punch) boyfriend (Timberlake) after being dumped. The film also stars Eric Stonestreet of "Modern Family," Molly Shannon and Jason Segel.

Variety reports that Timberlake was cast after Columbia Pictures saw his performance in the upcoming David Fincher film "The Social Network." "With Justin, Molly and Eric joining Cameron, Jason, Lucy and the rest of this dream comedy cast, we couldn't be more excited about this movie," Doug Belgrad, co-president of Columbia Pictures, said in a statement to "Access." "We love what we've seen of Justin's performance in 'The Social Network' and he is a perfect match for this role."

"The Social Network," based on the founding of Facebook, hits theaters in October. "To be honest, David Fincher is so ridiculously genius that we're all just following his lead," Timberlake has said. "I think we want to tell the story, and I want to tell it through [screenwriter Aaron] Sorkin's words and Fincher's eyes. I think the consensus for all of us is that we just want to make a great film."
