Kristen Stewart recently let it slip that she would be attending the Oscars alongside pal and fellow "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner — but now it's official. The pair will be presenters at the big show on March 7.
Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron have also been announced as presenters at the 82nd Academy Awards being held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. This broadcast marks Stewart — who won the Orange Rising Star prize at the BAFTAs on Sunday night (Feburary 21) in London — and Lautner's big Oscars debut. Both Cyrus and Efron have previously attended the show — in 2008, Cyrus' flick "Bolt" was nominated for an Academy Award.
Although he made an appearance at last year's show, it has yet to be announced if Robert Pattinson will also present at this year's ceremony.
News first broke of Stewart's Oscars appearance late last week and quickly the gossip blogs were buzzing about the "Twilight" stars appearance on the show. "Yeah, I'm going," Stewart shared with E! News last week, while promoting her new flick "The Yellow Handkerchief." "Me and Taylor are going to present. I've been looking at shoes. I'm trying to pick shoes that I know I won't fall down in."
It was recently revealed by producers that Sasha Baron Cohen was the first choice for host before they asked the duo of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. "[T]he Academy swatted it down," show producer Adam Shankman said in a recent interview of the Baron Cohen suggestion. "They thought it was too big of a wild card."
The Oscars will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, March 7.
