'Takers' Star Matt Dillon Discusses His Scenes With Chris Brown

In the fall of 2008, Chris Brown was ducking for cover on the set of the action movie "Bone Deep" as bullets popped overhead and MTV News watched from the sidelines. However, a few months later, Brown found himself in a much more serious situation after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

After pleading guilty, performing community-service workand discussing the incident many times in public, Brown's musical career has continued (his Graffiti LP is out on Tuesday), and so has his movie career. After a title change, "Bone Deep" is now "Takers," and in a recent conversation with MTV News, co-star Matt Dillon described the scenes he shared with Brown.

Dillon plays a detective investigating a group of bank robbers played by the likes of Brown, T.I. and Hayden Christensen. Dillon didn't exchange too many lines with Brown, but they do engage in a high-intensity scene — one that took more than a week to film.

"The stuff I did with Chris Brown is chasing him though the streets for eight days straight," Dillon said. "It was, like, nonstop.

"This guy is such a good athlete," he added about Brown. "He's, like, jumping over cars. He did a lot of stunts."

The scene comes together because Dillon's detective recognizes Brown's heistmaster and starts running after him. "I see him as a guy that's wanted, so it becomes this big chase scene," Dillon explained.

Back in October of 2008, Brown described the film's abundant, stylized action in one word: "Cool."

Co-star Michael Ealy, who plays Brown's older brother, said, "Chris has been very fun to work with — he brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Man, I don't remember having that much energy at his age."
