'Sex And The City' Stylist Says Sequel Is On The Way ... Eventually

Start sipping your cosmos and break out your Manolos: "Sex and the City" stylist Patricia Field has revealed that the rumored sequel to "Sex and the City: The Movie" will be hitting a theater near you ... eventually. And, by the way, this is all very unofficial.

"I do believe it will happen, because [creator] Michael Patrick King himself told me it's gonna happen," she told MTV News while doing press for her latest creative endeavor, "Confessions of a Shopaholic." "But I haven't really received any official information yet."

The original big-screen adaptation of the HBO series, released back in May, was an instant hit that updated fans on the glamorous lives of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. It also reminded everyone that in the "Sex and the City" world, the clothes are as remarkable as the four ladies.

But Field says excited fans everywhere need to reserve their enthusiasm — it's going to be awhile before the foursome hits theaters. "King has to write a new script. It's a long process. I don't think it will happen in 2009," she said. "But you never know. Maybe the end [of the year]. That's unofficial. I have really no idea. I don't think there's a set date anyway. It's in the really early process."

Even so, Field is ready for it. She loved getting to work on "SATC" again when they began filming the movie in 2007 and expects that, if or when it starts up again, everyone will come back to the project with the same amount of passion.

"When we went back to do the movie, it was exciting," she explained. "After doing the show for six years and then having a break for about four years, when everybody came back together, it was a family reunion.

"Everyone was in a great mood," she added, "which is great, because when people are in a great mood and feeling good, they're going to produce something good."

We're all over the Golden Globes! MTV News will be rolling out profiles, previews, fashion and much more in the days leading up to the awards — and this is the place to be on Sunday night, when we'll have live blogs, photos, interviews and more!
