If it wasn't clear already, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is going to be big — big robots, big explosions and now, big music. Linkin Park has been tapped to write the theme song for the highly anticipated sequel to Michael Bay's 2007 summer blockbuster.
The song, called "New Divide," is set for a worldwide radio premiere on May 18 — more than a month before "Revenge of the Fallen" hits theaters — and will be available for purchase on iTunes. The track will also appear on the official soundtrack, due in stores June 23 — the day before the movie hits theaters.
The multiplatinum-selling Linkin Park will also be contributing to the "Revenge of the Fallen" score, which is being composed by Steve Jablonsky (the first "Transformers") and executive-produced by Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer ("The Dark Knight").
This won't be the first collaboration between the California band and Bay — Linkin Park's song "What I've Done" was featured in the first "Transformers" and appeared on the official soundtrack. The single went double-platinum and appeared on the band's multiplatinum album,
